Youth worker denies sexual abuse

A pensioner from Norfolk who was decorated by the Queen for his charity work with youngsters has denied 22 charges of sexually abusing boys.

Henry Charles Day appeared at Norwich Crown Court to plead not guilty to indecent assault and incitement to commit indecent assault.

The charges against the 70-year-old date from 1973 to 1995.

Mr Day, who has run the Young Citizens' Guild in Hemsby since 1972, has been appointed MBE for his voluntary work.

He also has a British Empire Medal for his work with the guild.
