Man 'conned' in £7,000 work scam

An elderly man has been conned out of £7,000 by bogus workmen in Norwich, police said.

The workmen called at a house in Norman Road and offered to carry out work on the man's guttering.

Norfolk Police said the man was "forced" to hand over the cash for a two-day job, which was not genuine.

The offenders are being sought by officers. Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call police.
