Mall health centre opens in July

A new £2m walk-in health centre run by GPs and open 365 days a year in a city shopping area is to open next month.

The Timber Hill Health Centre, managed by Norwich Practices Limited, in Norwich Castle Mall opens on 21 July.

The centre is aiming to register about 1,200 patients in its first year and as many as 14 unregistered patients per hour will use the walk-in service.

The GPs will also offer minor surgery, sexual health advice, blood testing and minor injuries treatment.

Additional services include childhood immunisations, help to give up smoking and physiotherapy.

NHS Norfolk has commissioned the centre to develop further specialist services including X-ray and ultra sound treatment.

Registered patients will get help with the management of a number of longer term conditions including chronic heart disease, cancer and mental health issues.
