Confidence tricksters have swindled some people in Norfolk out of tens of thousands of pounds after they fell victim to a fake lottery scam. Letters saying they have won a jackpot prize of £750,000 have been sent to the homes of victims. To claim their winnings, they had to send a cheque for up to £30,000 to 'free-up' their winnings. Some people have already sent off the money and Norfolk police say the whole thing is a fraud. "There's very little chance of victims getting their cash back so if you get a letter like this - contact trading standards," a spokesman said.
