Man killed by train near crossing

A man died when he was hit by a train near a level crossing in Norfolk.

British Transport Police said officers were called to Croxton level crossing near Thetford on Tuesday evening. The victim died at the scene.

Trains between Thetford and Norwich were stopped for several hours while investigations were carried out.

The man did not live locally and his death is not regarded as suspicious. A police spokesman said they were trying to trace his next of kin.
