Property believed to have belonged to a convicted sex offender murdered in Norfolk has been recovered from a park.

The body of 73-year-old Gordon Boon was found concealed under fencing panels and a wheel in Rabbit Lane, Great Witchingham, on 6 October.

A mobile phone, white T-shirt, a rent card and shopping receipts were found in Eaton Park in Norwich.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Boon in and around Eaton Park between 3 and 6 October.

A 42-year-old man arrested in connection with the death has been released on police bail.

Mr Boon, from Norwich, was jailed for six years in 2001 for serious sexual offences and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Post-mortem tests showed he died from strangulation.

Det Ch Insp Steve Strong said: "At this stage the motive for the murder of Gordon Boon is unclear.

"It is very important that we catch and charge the person responsible for this crime."
