Men remanded over banker's death

The men's solicitor said they had been arrested after going to police voluntarily

Two men have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a banker killed in an attack in Norwich city centre.

Frank McGarahan, 45, of Much Hadham in Hertfordshire, died in Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge the day after the attack last Sunday.

Brothers Tom and Ben Cowles, 21 and 20, of Beaumont Road, Costessey, appeared before magistrates in Norwich.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 17 October.

Ben Cowles has additionally been charged with three counts of assault relating to Mr McGarahan's cousin, his brother and a Lithuanian man.

Daniel Moy, 21, also of Costessey, has been charged with assaulting Mr McGarahan's cousin in the incident in the early hours of Sunday.

Mr Moy is due to appear before Norwich magistrates on 15 October.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr McGarahan died from a brain injury.
