Man, 45, is charged with murder

A 45-year-old man has been charged with murder and attempted murder in Norfolk.

Michael Killeen, of Montague Way, Swaffham, was charged with the murder of a 72-year-old man and the attempted murder of a woman on Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody to appear before a special hearing at King's Lynn Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.

Detectives are still in the process of contacting the victims' next of kin and will therefore not be releasing their names until Saturday's hearing.

The female victim, who is in her 40s, remains at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and is in a stable condition.
