Director charged over fall death

A company director has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a man in a fall at a building site.

The worker, who was from China, was injured at the The Panary, Trowse, Norfolk, on 31 January.

He was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment, but died later.

Alcon Construction director Sharaz Butt is charged with manslaughter and four health and safety offences. He will appear before magistrates on 14 May.

The investigation was launched by the Norfolk Police and the Health and Safety Executive.
