Banned motorist drove to hearing

A banned motorist has admitted driving to court while disqualified - to answer a speeding charge.

Michael Tomlin, 49, who was banned in November, was spotted parking his VW Golf outside Cromer Magistrates Court in Norfolk to face an earlier charge.

Tomlin, of Fakenham, Norfolk, also admitted driving without insurance.

The defendant claimed he had just moved to the area, so did not know anyone who could give him a lift to court. He will be sentenced on 28 April.
