Man jailed for domestic violence

A 45-year-old man with a history of domestic violence has been jailed for 10 months after an assault on his partner.

Adam Yates, from Swaffham, pushed her over at the home they shared in Outwell, Norfolk, on 29 July last year.

He admitted he had given Jena Sharpe a "backhander" and she suffered injuries to her face that required stitches.

Judge Paul Downes at Norwich Crown Court said: "It appears you are a danger to your partners."

Lori Tucker, prosecuting, said during some jostling she was pushed hard and fell on her face.

Her injuries needed stitches, her face was bruised and her right eye closed up.
