Academy backers recruit principal
Backers for a Christian academy in Norfolk have advertised for a principal ahead of approval for the scheme.

The academy is supported by the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Rev Graham James, and local businessman Graham Dacre.

If permission is given the academy will be built on the site of the Heartsease High School in Norwich which is set to close in the summer.

Mr Dacre said: "If the academy goes ahead it will open in September so it's vital to have a principal in place."

County councillors have backed the controversial proposal to close Heartsease High School to make way for a new £20m academy but opposition councillors have called for the planned scheme to be examined further.

About 550 parents, teachers and councillors have signed a petition or written to the council opposing the plan.
