Man charged over church vandalism

The damage will cost thousands of pounds to repair
A 23-year-old man has been charged with vandalism to a Norfolk church which cost thousands of pounds to repair.

Up to 40 headstones were pushed over, stained glass windows were smashed and pews were wrecked at St Mary's Church in Great Plumstead on 7 July.

Ashley Keith Marriott of Westfield Road, Brundall, is charged with causing criminal damage and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He has been bailed to attend Norwich Magistrates' Court on 23 August.
