Man assaulted in robbery attempt
Two men forced a van driver off the road in north Norfolk and then attacked him with a metal bar.

The victim was making deliveries for the East Anglian Pharmaceutical Company in a white Ford Transit van when it was forced off the road at Alby Hill.

The attackers, wearing balaclavas and driving a white Ford Escort, assaulted the driver and searched the van.

However due to the driver's deliveries being completed no property was in the van and nothing was taken.

The victim was taken to Norwich and Norfolk Hospital with injuries to the head and abdomen, and remains in hospital.

It is believed that a red Peugeot 406 estate may have been following the man on his deliveries on Monday morning before the attack - which happened at about 1030 GMT.

Norfolk Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle along with the white Ford Escort and any other suspicious vehicles.
