New way of reporting stray dogs
Stray dog
Dogs will be kept for seven days before re-homing
Norwich city council is taking over responsibility for dealing with stray dogs from the police.

Stray dogs collected by wardens will, from Monday, be placed in kennels for seven days before being re-homed.

If a dog collected by a warden can be identified by the collar and tag, the owner will be notified.

The council said the dog would only be released when payment has been made. If a dog is reclaimed on the first day, the fee will be £30 plus vet's fees.
