A 25-year-old runner in the 10km Great East Anglia Run on Sunday has died in hospital after collapsing at the finish line in King's Lynn.
He was from Norfolk but has not yet been named. He died in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in King's Lynn.
Kenyan runners won the women's and men's sections - Patrick Mizohke in a time of 29mins 13secs and Cathy Mutwane in 33mins 30secs.
The course went through the historical centre of the port town.
Race director Ian Vaughan-Arbuckle said: "After finishing the run and crossing the finishing line he was obviously in distress.
"The doctor and paramedics were called very quickly but, unfortunately, despite spending a long time trying to resuscitate him he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
"It is a terrible tragedy and our thoughts go out to his family."
