Thieves target series of churches
Police are appealing for information after thieves targeted a series of Norfolk churches last week.

Winterton Holy Trinity and All Saints and Edingthorpe All Saints had the money from their collection and offertory boxes taken.

At St Andrews Church, Letheringsett, a man was disturbed trying to force the donation box with a screwdriver.

The safe was attacked at Blakeney St Peters and attempts were made to force entry at Cantley St Margaret's.

Thieves also tried to force the doors at Fishley St Mary's and Hemblington All Saints churches.

In a statement Norfolk police said: "Due to the isolated locations the help of the public is vital in preventing or catching offenders.

"The public are encouraged to report anything suspicious in and around churches."
