Trisha trainer died from car fall
A verdict of accidental death has been recorded at the inquest into the death of the former personal trainer of TV personality Trisha Goddard.

The inquest into the death of Darrell Greaves, 35, from Sprowston, had been delayed because his former fiance had lied about how he had injured himself.

On Friday, Hayley Rea, 31, of King's Park, Norwich, admitted his injuries were caused when jumping from her car.

In June 2004 she had said he had fallen down stairs and hit his head.

'Foolish and ill-judged'

In the early hours of Friday, 11 June 2004 she had gone to pick up Darrell Greaves and his friend Colin George from a pub on Riverside in Norwich.

Giving evidence at City Hall in Norwich Ms Rea said that after an argument Darrell Greaves had jumped out from the car and hit his head.

She said she had lied to police because he had asked her to.

She has already been sentenced by Norwich Crown Court and given 80 hours of community service for making a false statement to police.

Coroner William Armstrong called the death of Darrell Greave a terrible tragedy and expressed his regret that the inquest had taken so long to be concluded.

He said Hayley Rea's conduct was "foolish and ill-judged" but he said he was confident the truth had now come out.

He said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Greaves' death and he had died as a result of his own actions.
