About 70 young people were due to hear talks by various health professionals at James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, Norfolk, on Tuesday morning.
Year 11 students were due to discuss job opportunities with speakers such as consultants and paramedics.
The hospital is testing its emergency generator and power to the Burrage Conference Centre will be reduced.
A hospital spokesman has apologised saying the estates department did not realise the event was booked and it is hoped to stage it at a later date.
