'Dad's Army' hotel under threat
Dad's Army cast
The long-running series was filmed in and around Thetford
A hotel in Thetford where the crew and some of the Dad's Army cast stayed could be demolished.

The owners of the Anchor Hotel say the day-to-day maintenance costs are too high to run it as a hotel, and to improve it would cost around 250,000.

Developers want to pull it down and build flats.

The very first scene from the first episode 'The Man and the Hour' was filmed inside the hotel, in the 'Norvic Room' which is now a dining area.

Dad's Army was started in 1967 with stars of the series coming to Thetford for six weeks at a time and staying in the Bell and Anchor Hotels.
