Norfolk Police are joining officers from neighbouring forces and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to clamp down on rural crime.
In the last five months nearly 2,000 vehicle crimes were reported across Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
Police say many of these crimes are committed by travelling criminals.
All five forces, their air operations units and HMRC will now be targeting criminals along the counties' borders.
The intention is to disrupt any criminal activity, collect intelligence and target people who are driving without insurance and licences.
