A new heritage museum celebrates Great Yarmouth's past

A £4.5m museum to celebrate Great Yarmouth's history reveals a harsh world of fishing and industry.
It has taken 10 years to complete the project and the displays are built inside one of the town's old herring curing works.
The herring fishery of the North Sea and its exports to the Baltic area made Great Yarmouth a wealthy port.
The Time and Tide museum celebrates the history of the town and even recreates one of its old streets.
Museum curator Michael Stewart said: "Great Yarmouth has a fantastic heritage and although there is a wealth of museums in the town it has taken us 10 years to put the last piece into place.
"Our aim is to present a full picture of the town's heritage and to get it on the map for visitors."
