Man is cleared of father's murder
A Norfolk man has been found not guilty of killing his father.

Adam Colby, 24, of Albion Road in Great Yarmouth, had denied murdering his father in the early hours of 11 April last year.

Stephen Colby, 47, a retired builder, was found by his two sons at his home in Audley Street, Great Yarmouth. He had been battered to death.

A jury of 10 women and two men had deliberated for 11 hours at Norwich Crown Court before reaching a verdict.

Adam Colby was cleared of both murder and manslaughter on Monday.

Following the verdict, a spokesman for Norfolk Constabulary said police would be in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service to review the court proceedings and result to determine if further lines of enquiry can be pursued.
