Village 'terror alert' over sweet
Love Hearts
The Love Heart sweet was crushed in the post
A Love Heart sherbet sweet caused part of a village to be cordoned off this week after fears of a possible terror incident.

A woman posted a sweet to her boyfriend but it became crushed in the envelope and white powder was seen leaking out.

Staff at Upwell Post Office in Norfolk called emergency services who arrived but soon realised it was a false alarm.

Parish councillor David Barnard said staff at the post office took the right action on Tuesday.

He said: "I don't think you can take any chances these days, especially with what's going on - terrorism and everything.

"I believe anybody and everybody can be a target, so I think you've got to be careful.

"If you're at all worried, you've got to take that action."
