Staff get Legionnaires' all-clear
Legionella bacteria
Insurance staff assured 'no risk' from Legionella bacterium
Staff at a Norfolk insurance company have been assured their offices are safe after a worker was diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease.

Environmental health officers have carried out checks at Norwich Union in Norwich where the male IT worker with the illness worked.

No trace of the legionella bacterium was found in the air conditioning system or the building itself.

Louise Zucchi from Norwich Union said there was no risk to staff.

She said: "Environmental health teams came in and have checked air conditioning units and the building, and have stated they are not the source of the disease.

"No other members of our staff have fallen ill."

It is not known how the employee contracted the disease.
