A47 road closed for 10 hours after fatal accident
A 20-year-old pedestrian has died after an accident which closed the A47 road in Norfolk for nearly 10 hours.

A blue Vauxhall Vectra car collided with the man at Tilney All Saints, police have said.

The road was closed during a police investigation to find out how the accident happened.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were called out from King's Lynn at 2200 GMT on Thursday. The man died from his injuries at the QEII Hospital.

Traffic back to normal

"The road reopened again at 0720 GMT on Friday and during the night traffic was diverted via country roads and the A17 main road.

"Traffic is now back to normal and we are now trying to piece together the details of the incident.

"We will report the identity of the victim later but would like to hear from anyone who can provide us with information about the incident.

"The victim was walking in the carriageway about a quarter of a mile from the Tilney roundabout at 2150 GMT.

"A post-mortem examination is to take place and our investigation is continuing."
