Passengers up on Bittern Line
Bittern Line train
The Bittern Line links Norwich with Sheringham
Passenges using one of Norfolk's branch lines went up by 20% last year.

The Bittern Line, which links Norwich and Sheringham, is run by Anglia Railways.

Extra trains have been running with the help of a subsidy from Norfolk County Council.

Last year 440,000 people used the line with 10,000 passengers using a new late night service which has been operating since May.

The number of trains running on the line has doubled since Anglia took over the line.

County councillor Adrian Gunson said the rise was a measure of just how much the service was needed.

Anglia will lose its franchise in the Spring.
