Father and son jailed over brawl
A father and a son involved in a brawl at a west Norfolk pub have been sentenced to jail for the attack, which left a cook seriously injured.

The brawl took place in July last year at the Wild Fowler in Terington St Clements.

Thomas Taylor, 22, of Haygreen caravan site in the village, had been drinking at the pub and struck a customer, Norwich Crown Court heard.

Albert Bruinsma, a cook at the pub who was with his family, was punched in the face by Taylor, and fell over.

As he tried to leave, he was struck again.

Thomas Taylor's father, 47-year-old James Taylor, came over to calm the situation, but then became involved in the fray, the court heard.

Ian James, prosecuting, said: "One witness described him as taking a six paced run-up before kicking the complainant in the head."

Mr Bruinsma needed 20 stitches to his face, lost two teeth and had bruising all over his body.

Both men had entered not guilty pleas, but in July this year the pair pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm.

On Friday, James Taylor was jailed for a year and his son, Thomas, for six months.
