Actor Ricky Whittle is due back before the court in April

Strictly Come Dancing star Ricky Whittle is to face trial on a charge of dangerous driving. The former Hollyoaks actor, of Billinge, near Wigan, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court earlier. He is accused of driving at a freelance photographer after leaving a party in November 2009. The 30-year-old indicated he would plead not guilty to the charge when he next appears in court in Liverpool, on 21 April. Oldham-born Mr Whittle played Calvin Valentine in Hollyoaks, which is filmed in Liverpool.
