Pensioner dies in St Helens bus crash

An elderly woman who died after she was knocked down by a bus on Merseyside has been named by police.

Hilda Ogden, 78, was seriously injured in the crash in St Helens town centre on Monday afternoon.

Ms Ogden, from St Helens, was taken to Whiston Hospital but her injuries proved fatal.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident outside the Millennium Centre by the junction of Corporation Street and Hall Street.
