Human ashes found inside handbag in Liverpool

A handbag containing a small tin of human ashes has been handed in at a Merseyside police station.

Officers are now trying to find the owner of the small black bag. The tin also contained a photograph.

The bag was found in Pighue Lane, Wavertree, Liverpool, on 19 November.

As well as the ashes, the bag also contained a photograph of a man, woman and child, cigarettes, a bottle of perfume and make-up.

The bag's owner should contact Merseyside Police. They will be asked to describe its contents.
