Man is seriously injured by taxi

A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a taxi in Chester.

He had been crossing the A56 Hoole Road near to Vicarage Road at about 2245 GMT on Friday when he was hit by a blue Vauxhall Vectra taxi.

He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital and is in a serious but stable condition.

The 37-year-old driver of the taxi and his two passengers were unhurt. No one has been arrested over the incident, Cheshire Police said.
