Armed robbery at city restaurant

Two men in hooded tops and carrying what police believe may have been a gun threatened staff and robbed a restaurant in Liverpool city centre.

The men also forced customers in the Eureka restaurant on Myrtle Street to hand over valuables including mobile phones and wallets on Thursday night.

They left the restaurant on foot and ran off towards Bedford Street South.

No-one was injured during the incident and the scene sealed off for forensic examinations, Merseyside Police said.

The offenders are both described as black. The first man is described as approximately 6ft 2in tall and he was wearing dark clothing and a black hooded top.

The second offender is described as 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall and he was wearing a cream hooded top.

CCTV footage is being examined and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
