Three held in house murder probe

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead at a house on Merseyside.

Officers found the 31-year-old victim after receiving reports that a man had been assaulted at the property in St Augustine's Way, Netherton.

A 22-year-old woman, from Netherton, was arrested at the scene and two men, aged 34 and 48, were arrested a short time later in Litherland and Crosby.

All three were being questioned at police stations across Merseyside.

Crime scene investigators have visited the scene and house-to-house inquiries were also being carried out.

A post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death was due to be carried out later on Saturday.

Detectives believe the man may have been assaulted during an argument at the house.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police.
