Morrissey
Morrissey stopped his concert during his second song Black Cloud

Full refunds are being offered to Morrissey fans who were at his concert at the Liverpool Echo Arena which was stopped when he was hit by a missile.

The former frontman of the Manchester band The Smiths walked off stage after he was hit by a plastic bottle thrown from the crowd on Saturday night.

Promoters SJM said details of refunds would be posted on the venue's website and the gigsandtours.com website.

They also said it was an isolated incident.

A spokeswoman for the promoters added: "This incident is extremely unfortunate but is directly the result of the actions of one individual and cannot reflect on the general safety situation at Liverpool Echo Arena.

"Each concert presents its own challenges and stewarding and security precautions are tailored to the expected level of demand in individual case."

Morrissey stopped his performance halfway through the second song Black Cloud.

He had recently resumed his tour after collapsing three weeks ago.
