A man found guilty of carrying out a "cold-blooded execution" has been jailed for a minimum of 36 years. Eusop Milne, 36, of Prescot, used two guns to murder former doorman Daniel Duffy in Netherley, Merseyside, Liverpool Crown Court heard. His accomplice, Paul Simons, of no fixed address, who was also convicted of murder, was jailed for 28 years. Both men had denied the charge. The judge said the 2006 attack was "ruthless, determined and chilling". The court heard witnesses watched "horrified" as Milne shot his victim repeatedly as he lay helpless in Sullington Drive. Mr Duffy's daughter gave a victim impact statement to the court, explaining how the family had been left distraught and at a loss as to why their loved one was murdered. Judge Henry Globe, the Recorder of Liverpool, said: "The murder was premeditated and planned and the evidence of the contact shots is particularly chilling.

"The motive for his murder is unknown and may never be known." Milne, of Kingsway, Prescot, was also convicted of the attempted murder of Mohammed Rashid in Coventry, which happened six weeks before he shot Mr Duffy. The court heard how he, and several other men, tried to rob Mr Rashid's sons in September 2006. When Mr Rashid tried to protect them, Milne shot him three times. Both he and Simons were found guilty of conspiring to rob two of Mr Rashid's sons and one of their cousins. The other gang members, brothers, Lee Almond from Litherland and Peter Almond from Fazakerley were jailed for eight years for the robbery conspiracy. Razwan Mirza from Sheffield, received six years for the same offence and Ian Dutton from Litherland, who admitted conspiracy to steal, received two years and 10 months.
