The internal damage at the flats has been filmed by firefighters for the BBC
Searches have been continuing at a block of flats in Liverpool after a crane collapsed on top of the building.
The equipment was moving a five-tonne weight when it fell on to the four-storey block at Cornhill on Monday.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service have been making further checks for anyone who may have been trapped inside.
The crane driver was rescued from the roof of the building and taken to hospital where he was said to be in a "serious but stable" condition.
Residents may not be able to return for a few weeks
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said residents had a "lucky escape" when the weight attached to the crane's arm went through the building at lunchtime.
The Health and Safety Executive has started an investigation.
Structural engineers have been assessing the damage and Merseyside Police has advised motorists to avoid the area.
Liverpool City Council has set up a rest centre at Park Road Leisure Centre, Toxteth, for people who cannot return to their apartments.
