Two further fire attacks on pubs

Police on Merseyside are investigating two more arson attacks on pubs.

A homemade firebomb was thrown at the Fountains Abbey in Kirkdale in the early hours of Wednesday but the fire did not take hold.

Flammable liquid was poured inside the Park Brow in Kirkby and set alight, causing extensive damage.

Police have been investigating links to 10 other arson attacks on pubs across the Merseyside area over the past few months.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy earlier this week in connection with attacks at pubs in Edge Hill, West Derby, Huyton and Hoylake on the Wirral.

He was later released on bail.
