Parents appeal over son's murder

The parents of a man stabbed to death while looking for a stolen mountain bike on Merseyside have appealed for his killers to come forward.

Sean Finnan, 22, of Childwall, went to Stockbridge Village on 5 January to try to find the bike, but was stabbed and hit over the head.

His parents Rose and Joe Finnan have urged anyone with information about the murder to contact police.

Two 21-year-old men, a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old boy are being questioned.

'Totally devastated'

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "Rose and Joe Finnan, the parents of Sean would like to urge people to come forward if they have any information that could assist Merseyside Police with their investigation in to the death of their son, to call the police directly or if there are other reasons preventing them doing so to call Crimestoppers.

"The photograph of their son was taken at a happy family event.

"Sean's untimely and tragic death has totally devastated his family and friends."

The bike was found in woodland near to Little Wood Lodge, between the M57 motorway and the B5194.
