Stolen bike row stab victim dies

A man from Liverpool who was stabbed after going out to find his brother's stolen mountain bike has died.

Sean Finnan, 22, of Childwall, went to Stockbridge Village on Monday to try to find the bike after a tip-off.

But when he got out of a friend's van on Barons Hey, he was stabbed in the leg and hit over the head.

Mr Finnan underwent emergency surgery on Monday but died in the early hours of Saturday, prompting Merseyside Police to launch a murder inquiry.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen two men waiting in the area before the incident happened.
