Student knifed by masked robbers

A student was stabbed during a struggle with armed robbers at the house he shares with other students in Chester.

The 22-year-old was asleep in the house on Gladstone Road when the robbers came in during the early hours of Saturday.

After threatening one of the students, who was on his computer, one of the men went into the kitchen, took a knife and started searching the other rooms.

The student confronted the attacker and was stabbed in the stomach, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

Cheshire Police said the robbers left with a laptop computer.

Officers have stepped up patrols in the area and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
