Man, 27, shot in targeted attack

A 27-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a targeted attack, Merseyside Police.

The victim, who has not been named, was shot just before 1830 GMT on Sunday on Eastern Avenue, Speke.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said the incident was being treated as a targeted shooting.

The scene has been cordoned off for tests by forensic science experts and high visibility patrols are also being carried out.
