Rafa recovers from kidney surgery

Rafael Benitez is expected to return to work by the end of the week

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has undergone minor surgery after being admitted to hospital suffering from kidney stones.

The club said his problem was not serious and he was expected to be back at work before the end of the week.

The news comes just days after his Chelsea counterpart Luiz Felipe Scolari was taken to hospital with the same complaint.

The Anfield team are due to play against Arsenal on Sunday.
