Motorcyclist dies in van accident

A motorcyclist has died in a road accident on Merseyside.

The rider was in a collision with a Mercedes box van at Warrington Road in the Bold Heath area of St Helens, late on Friday afternoon.

Merseyside Police said the man, who lived locally, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who saw the accident, which happened near to the Sandy Lane junction, to come forward.
