Arrest over dead baby discovery

A 56-year-old man has been arrested after the body of a newborn baby was discovered at a house in Warrington.

Officers found the girl's body on Tuesday after a 35-year-old woman was admitted with abdominal pains to Warrington Hospital.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "The woman also suffered blood loss consistent with someone who had recently given birth."

The man has been bailed pending further police and medical inquiries.
