Pair robbed of business takings

Two men were robbed by a gang as they took their business takings to a bank in Liverpool.

The pair were approached outside the Lloyds TSB at West Derby Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Three men approached them, threatening them and demanding their money. A scuffle ensued and the robbers ran off with a substantial amount of cash.

One of the victims received minor cuts and bruises and both were left shaken, Merseyside police said.

Getaway car

The men turned left into Silverdale Road and got into a black Volvo which travelled towards Green Lane.

One of the robbers was white, aged about 22, 5ft 8in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a dark jacket with a hood on.

The second offender was black, aged between 20 and 25 years. He was taller than the first offender and was wearing a black jumper and black bottoms.

The third man was white, about 6ft tall and wearing a red jacket.

Merseyside police are appealing for witnesses.
