Inquiry after shot fired at house

Detectives are investigating after a shot was fired at the front door of a house in Liverpool.

Merseyside Police believe a shotgun was used in the attack on the property in Eden Vale, Netherton, in the early hours of Sunday.

Although there were people inside the house no-one was injured.

House-to-house inquiries are being carried out and patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the community, police said.

Det Ch Insp Mike Shaw said: "This is a very early stage in the investigation and we are still trying to establish why this house may have been targeted."
