Woman dies after fatal car crash

A 34-year-old woman has died following a road crash in Merseyside.

The woman was driving along Catchdale Moss Lane in Eccleston, near to the junction with the A580 East Lancashire Road, when her car collided with a van.

After the accident, which happened at about 1640 GMT, the woman was taken to hospital where she later died, Merseyside police said.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and has been questioned by police about the incident.
