Young cyclist dies in road crash

A 12-year-old cyclist has died in a road accident in Chester.

The child's bicycle was in collision with a white Peugeot van outside a petrol station at the junction of Green Lane in Tarvin. He died at the scene.

The van was being driven by a 34-year-old man from Leeds when the accident happened on Friday afternoon.

Cheshire police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, or anyone who saw the bicycle of the van before the crash, to contact police.
