Motorcyclist killed in car crash

A motorcyclist from Lancashire died when his bike was involved in a collision with a car in Liverpool.

Christopher Corlett, 20, from Ormskirk, was riding a Yamaha motorbike in Prescot Road, Melling, when the crash happened at about 0700 BST.

Mr Corlett was near the Pear Tree pub when he thrown from the bike. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

The driver of the VW Polo involved in the crash stopped at the scene and has been interviewed by police.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
